Hello Shark Family

 Athletics Update

Our fall sports teams are ready for another exciting week of competition! Be sure to check out the upcoming games and meet times below, and come out to support our student-athletes!


Field Hockey
The Field Hockey Team will kick things off on Monday, October 12, at 3:30 PM at Newark Charter Junior High School.

Please note: There is no school on October 12, but the Field Hockey Team will still have a game! We encourage everyone to come out and cheer them on.

The team will then be back at home on Thursday, October 15, at 3:30 PM, when they take on Meredith Middle School.

 Girls Volleyball
The Girls Volleyball Team has two away games coming up!

  • Tuesday, October 13 at 3:30 PM — The team will travel to Redding Middle School to take on Redding Middle School.
  • Thursday, October 15 at 3:30 PM — The team will travel to Odessa High School to face Cantwell’s Bridge Middle School.

Let's show our girls some school spirit and cheer them on as they compete on the road! 

Cross Country
The Cross Country Team will be back in action on Thursday, October 15, at 3:30 PM at Odessa High School.

Our runners will be competing in a Tri-Meet against other schools. We wish our Cross Country Team the best of luck as they hit the course! 

We are proud of all our student-athletes and the hard work they put into representing our school. Good luck to all of our teams this week! Let's show them our support and school spirit!!!

Athletic Eligibility and Registration

Any athlete wishing to try out for a sport at and/or participate in any off-season activities MUST be:

  • registered into Rank One with current DIAA Physical, AND
  • eligible according to all DIAA regulations and ASD policies

Due to the time required for school and health staff to review and approve athletic registrations, all required forms must be submitted by the registration deadline.  Students will not be permitted to participate in tryouts unless all required forms have been submitted and approved prior to the first day of tryouts.  The deadline for winter sports is November 4, 2026 and the deadline for spring sports is March 3, 2027. Directions can be found below on how to register in Rank One.

DSMAC - Updates to PPE Forms for 2026-27

2026-2027 Middle School Athletics

Any athlete wishing to try out for a sport at and/or participate in any off-season activities MUST be:

  • registered into Rank One with current DIAA Physical, AND

How To Register in Rank One:  Visit DIAA for Parents.  Scroll down to the Rank One Parent Portal and follow all directions.  

An instruction guide and tutorial video are provided for your reference. The guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to set up your parent account.
 
Reminders:

  • All athletic registration must be done in Rank One. No documents for athletics will be accepted at the school.
  • To be eligible to participate in interscholastic athletics for the 2026-2027 school year, all student-athletes need a DIAA PPE (preparticipation physical exam form) completed by their physician or qualified healthcare provider after April 1, 2026.
  • DIAA has created a new PPE form.  This will be the only form accepted for the 2026-2027 school year. The new form will be posted on the DIAA and school athletic websites.  Please see the DIAA Medical Forms page (click link) for more information.

It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to confirm that all uploaded documents are complete and that all required online forms have been completed. Please follow all directions as posted on DIAA for Parents: Rank One Parent Instructions.  Once all required forms are submitted and approved, your child's forms will show all green (see below).

The following sports will be offered for the 2026-27 school year.  Athletes must have a current  DIAA physical on file with the school to be eligible to tryout and participate!
